Hello people of Overclock.Net

I have seen many of these ''Hackintosh'' discussions on OCN and this is simply is not acceptable due to the Apple EULA.

Clarification of what Hackintosh is:

As Overclock.Net supports Lawful discussions we cannot allow discussions of the Hackintosh sort or any other modifications that violate the EULA of another company.

If such threads are created they will be REMOVED and the offending members dealt with

Enterprise, thank you. The discussion is illegal and should have not been discussed in the first place. If you need help with building a "Hackintosh" you shall go to other forums and seek help, there are plenty of mac forums tht would be happy to help you with your "hackintosh".

Well I think that is pretty lame. Did you get any threats from Apple? Other forums discuss it, and if you pay for the OS its not like you are taking anything away from Apple.

The fact that microsoft software can be ran on macintosh hardware, in comparison with apple's eula, and our attempt to stand by it, i have to say i am not in agreement with, even though as an OCN member i will strictly abide by it.

The mac osx even comes with a software package called bootcamp allowing the installation of windows on apples hardware.

So roll out PC hardware which mainly uses windows as the primary os, cannot be used in conjunction with apples software. Bleh, disgusting eula.

I doesn't matter. You pay for the OS only to be used on Mac hardware. You are not allowed by the EULA agreement when you install OSX to use it on non-apple branded hardware.

It is NOT supported by apple, people decided to get creative with there macs when the new Apple macs with Intel Processors came out and started to install windows o nthe machine. We abide by other companies Rules. There EULA state that the use of Hackintosh is a violation of there EULA. As we abide by the EULA laws we CANNOT allow such discussions.

Other forums can remain unlawful if they wish.

Right, I'm not debating that. Just by the fact that Apple themselves provide a tool for installing windows shows that it must not be against the EULA. Also, that bit of the EULA quoted says nothing about installing 3rd party operating systems on apple hardware.

Edit: Never mind, Enterprise fixed it.

Honestly though, with all being said, this isnt a debate thread about apple's eula, more so a rule thread being created by a moderator.

The ad's are from google and the hosting company. It's a bit funny. But apple recently filed a lawsuit against Psystar for making hackintosh's.
