I wanted to buy a MacBook and saw that you can get a free iPod touch with a rebate. I was just going to sell it but do they do something like that every summer? I'm just waiting for Snow Leopard but if they give something else free next summer I will just wait. They also might have a better MacBook out by then. I can't get the money for the MacBook by the deadline its like October or something for the free iPod. So do they do that every year?

Almost every year for Schools they have a gift like that where if you buy a Qualified Mac, you get a free iPod Touch or something similar like that.

It's happened for the past few years.

The OP is not asking for a Windows laptop. He is asking if Apple gives away an item every year with the purchase of a qualified Mac.

Stop trying to get someone to buy a Windows machine when that is NOT what they're asking at all.

I hate Macs and I might always will or I will hate them even more after I get a MacBook. Also the amount of PCs I have all there is left to do is get a Mac. I prefer Linux over Mac any day. I just want to learn the operating system even though it is not widely used its a big plus in the IT world.

If you want to bash Macs, go make a Rant thread. And if you hate them so much, why are you buying a MacBook? If you just want to "learn the operating system" you can install OS X on a PC.

As for it not being widely used, well, your just plain wrong there. Last time I checked, Apple commanded 9-10% of the market share.

If you're going to be rude, then don't continue posting in this thread, and I'll be glad to report you.

Now OP, I do not see the reason you want a MacBook if it's only to learn it. You are stating you hate Macs, but you've never had one? I think you should relax on hating something that you've never had until you've had one.

OS X is one of the easiest operating systems to learn, and everything is always ridiculously simple that I'm planning on moving my whole family over to OS X when I can.

I think you should get a MacBook from the Apple Store refurbished, or with student discount, and have fun with it, because it's an incredible machine.

Also, discussion of running OS X on PC is strictly forbidden, so do not continue that discussion.
