Default Zipping file program help

my aunt has a mac and shes wondering how to make zip files. I use winrar on my windows PC but for mac i have no clue what program to use. Does anyone know any popular ones?

I'm not familiar at all with Macs, but I knew Winrar existed for many platforms. Hopefully someone else can chime in with more alternatives, but why use an alternative when the best already exists

Use Finder. Right-click > Compress "file name"

And that's it.

Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best!

I've deliberately held off loading all the utilities I normally put onto a Windows box after I install the OS. Defrag, for example.. For the most part, I don't need or miss them..
