seriously, every time i ask someone "why a mac?" they say "i dont like bsods"
i dont mind mac, but can't they say something else, you'd have to really convince me to switch to mac as a main os

Yes he had, a few days ago both of his Macs couldn't connect to the internet anymore all of a sudden. At least that's what he said, and of course, he called me to fix it

A lot of it now is just marketing. People will just buy Macs because we're flooded with advertising that says Macs aren't PCs, Macs are better than PCs. Sheeple are dumb, they'll buy what their told to.

I'm not saying that there aren't very good reasons for owning a Mac. I'm just saying that for a lot of people it doesn't make a difference, one way or the other.

I could not agree more. I have windows 7 on my mac pro desktop. I love it. I need a mac for the software.

I think people need to forget about logos and evaluate products based on how it meets their personal needs. If you do that - you can't go wrong.

I think that Mac is going to be in for a rude awakening. Now that their popularity is increasing, the persons writing malware are going to start focusing on ways to infiltrate their systems. Nobody wants to talk about it, everyones in denial, and so positive that the Mac is as secure as Ft Knox. PC's are evolving to be just as competitive , even in the job market, especially with Win 7. I've been in the IT industry since I graduated 20 years ago, working as an admin, programmer at every level, as well as in the sales and product management side of the software industry. I have worked extensively with Windows of every flavor, as well as many variants of UNIX and Linux. Windows-based computers are a constant chore to use and maintain. Period.

I bought a basic MacBook for $600 earlier this year, as I was sick of the constant performance problems with my Windows laptops. I doubled the RAM from 2->4GB, the HD up to 320GB, and put on Snow Leopard, and the user interface, application load times, and overall responsiveness are better than my sig rig!! Also, the OS is sooo much nicer to use than Windows, it just feels intuitive. Every time I've had to go back and use a Windows machine, I get frustrated.

If I wasn't planning to stay in the industry, I'd quit worrying about Windows systems altogether. Unfortunately, it's where the money is - for good reason!
