Yo, I have a dmg of 10.6.0 from my dvd and I'm trying to install it from a usb drive. However, When the time comes (before apple will let me put the dmg on my flash drive (yes I have done this before)) It will say something like "could not verify source (the dmg of 10.6.0). Anyway I can get around verifying? Rep will be added.
Thnx.

What are you doing exactly? If it is just an image verify error, there is a button that says "cancel" while it verifies.
I do what I think you're trying to do to every OSX DVD I get, and here's how I do it. Reformat the destination as HFS+ Open Disk Utility Mount the image Go to "Restore" tab Set the mounted image as the source, and the newly formatted drive as destination When it tries to verify, click "cancel" It should carry on

If the image can't be verified, it's a bad image, sorry. Try again.

Completely off topic, but I saw this thread in the recent discussions box at the top and thought to myself "this thread could be interesting. I wonder what reasons people are going to give as to why they still have a PC instead of a console". You know, after all of the game porting going on and Infinity Ward pushing everyone over the edge.
Sorry, continue.

Just put the DVD in a Mac and everything runs fine. Stop trying to manipulate stuff and load it on a computer that isn't designed to run OS X. Then whine because Mac Sux. I've made a REALLY Nice living running my own Printing Business. The only computers that ever gave me grief were PC's. Had 2 of them, one at home and one at the shop. Two Macs at work and 1 to work at home. I still have them and the PC's still wont boot without praying to some Redmond god and keeping the install disk in the drive.

the reason you still have a PC is because you can't complete a simple task? i thought thats the type of people mac's are for :P
this isnt a verification error like verifying it is a legit copy, its that the dmg is bad. where did you get the disk image?

seriously sorry but your title made me do it. In the mean time, check out DASBOOT. its cool. I guess you could try blessing the drive in the console to make it bootable, but after reading what others had to say, looks like your .dmg is corrupted best of luck
