Default For Trade: AMD processors.

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ socket AM2 processor that I would like to trade for a socket 939 processor with the equivalent of a 4200+ or better. An Opti would be awesome and for it might even part with a few bucks VIA PayPal.

I came across one out of an HP one of my customers was throwing away thinking it was a socket 939. I have a DFI NF4 Ultra-D SLI that I would like to have used it in. The pins are perfect and the unit was able to run fine when I took it out. It has always been handled properly and is now wrapped in an anti-static bag.

I will post up pics in a few minutes when my camera charges.

Cool. What is 939? I'm not sure if I have one or not. If it is intel then I think I have it but I do not have any AMD's plus what would you say the equivilant of that CPU is to a Intel?

AMD is not better than Intel in some ways and is better in other ways. Intel is better than AMD in some ways and worse than AMD in others.
Peace!

A 939 is the socket used just before the AM2 for AMD. I believe the Intel equivalent would be somewhere around a C2D E6300 I guess. It's not very powerful, but would make a great folder or HTPC chip.

I guess so. Seems like everything is made there so it is no surprise.

EDIT: you had me doing a double-take on that one, but in the third picture down you can clearly see that the pins are properly aligned for a socket AM2, not a 939.

Sounds good. Lets see what you got. Like I said, this chip is worth a bit more than just about any socket 939 chip out there, so I would like something in a 4200+, 4400+, or better.

They make them in Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia, and China. But they do have R&D facilities in CA and other places. That tour has got to be way cooler than the Crayola factory.

you are incorrect sir.. your 3800+ x2 am2 IS NOT worth more than any of the 939 x2's... infact the am2 cpu's SUCKED when compared to 939..just that am2 ulitilized ddr2.. free bump?
