Again im not asking the rules to be changed ,ive asked directly why that rule holds any merit and no one seems to have a real reply.If it does mean something then enplane how Rep is a worthy criteria.If Rep can be given away for nothing ,and then that Rep is worth something to a buyer in a form of being a trustworthy seller what is its true value ?

last second thought, whats to stop anyone from making a second account and ip spoofing then giving themselves Rep for every post they make? Not that im that desperate its just a observation of how Rep when being relevant to selling is worth anything really.

Why do you claim rep is given away for nothing?
If that were true, should you not have more than 1 rep?

Rep abuse is not tolerated, sure the occasional trash rep is given.
But members trying to inflate their rep for the sole purpose of FS rights get caught.

Well when its all said and done i guess i will not be able to sell here for some time as i just dont post alot or have something brilliant to add to a topic im reading here to get REP anytime soon.But i am a known trusted seller at other sites and this is a good market to offer some items of worth i no longer need as i upgrade.Im honestly sorry i cant sell here as people here tend to know wth things are really worth .Thanks for the replies ill keep reading the good posts here i guess

If it has not been said (sorry not going to read everything). I doubt OCN wants the for sale to become a commerce driven area above members selling items they have. In other words this is not ebay and they don't want it to be. OCN wants to protect it's members from over commercially driven offerings? Because that is available elsewhere for those who want.

Just my thoughts. I also suspect some who are not happy with the current rules are strictly commercially motivated and one could say potentially want to exploit the unique member demographics of OCN. OCN has zero obligation to facilitate commercially driven vendors. I suspect want to keep it nice, simple and old fashioned.

I say keep the rules.

The only thing I might suggest to accomplish similar is length of membership and participation. But I must concede 35 rep is not the highest wall so I guess mute?
