For Sale/Wanted Rules paraphrased - Overclock.net

We have had a multitude of violations of the For Sale/Wanted rules recently, so I thought I'd post a simplified version of the rules. Please obey these, or expect to receive warnings and/or infractions. The official rules still govern. This is just an abbreviated version for your convenience.

You need 35+ reps to post a new thread in the For Sale and Wanted Forums. Exceptions cannot and will not be made to this rule.
No affiliate links of any kind are permitted.
Computer and tech items only. Listing services is not permitted. No sales of OEM operating systems unless factory sealed and accompanied by significant hardware. No selling online accounts or software keys (unless specifically permitted by EULA).
No cross posting on eBay or advertising eBay auctions, NO auction site links or references allowed!
A sale price must be listed for each item. No upping the price if there is competition over an item.
Photos are very helpful.
You may sell more than one item in a thread, but you have to number the items, list prices, and mark SOLD after items that have sold. Do not delete sold items as this messed up trader feedback.
Make offers via PM only. Offers in threads will be deleted.
Don't post unless you have a question. Period. Only the OP may discuss price. Discussing price in a thread either good ("great price!') or bad ("those are $X new") is not appropriate and will earn a warning or infraction.
Do not post an item unless you are definite that you want to sell it.
If you are looking to purchase an item, post the exact item that you are interested in obtaining.
Once items are found or sold, close your thread using the Thread Tools drop down (upper right corner). You do not need a director to do this for you.
All thread titles must start with "Wanted: ", "For Sale: ", "Trade: ", or "For Sale/Trade: " and be followed by a description of the item of interest. Threads that do not follow this naming convention will be deleted, and this includes thread with non-descriptive titles. Use preset thread prefixes to save time and effort. 13a. Use the appropriate [US], [ConUS], [CA], [EU], [Global] etc... TAG.
You may not ask for free items. No cyberbegging will be allowed.
Wait a minimum of 24 hours between bumps. This counts for OPs and other members alike. Any post that's not an update by the OP or a specific question from a potential buyer/supplier is considered a bump. Excessive bumping will earn warnings or infractions.
Use the "Report Bad Post" button if a post breaks the rules. Do not post about the issue.
Deals are made solely between members and are not the responsibility of Overclock.net even if they result in no payment, not receiving items, or any other negative outcome.
If you rip off someone and they can prove it, you will be banned.

yes they do!

and they still do not get the point.

im watching people go off topic in forums and not even care if they are told to stop. and continuous bumping. people need to learn that when the rules say 24 hour bumps apart that applies to all parties.

so if your reading a thread do not bump the thread unless the last reply was 24 hours ago.

Could I please make a suggestion for the For Sale section.

What about introducing a common practice of including the country the sale item is located in within the thread title.

Just means that us over the pond can find hardware that is being sold locally a little easier than trying to remember where members are from

It's a good thought, but my response to this in the past is that once people start following the existing rules, we can start adding new ones. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go with the existing ones.

Everyone is welcome to voluntarily list locaitons, though. A few people do this, but it's a small minority.
