It so much better that the original Deathadder. The feeling is like a Xai but the top is slightly smoother/slipperier.

It'll take more convincing than that to make me move back to my DA after having this G500.

Still, looks brilliant. I'm not a fan of the texture that they have on the top of the DA's, it scratches and gets dirty too easily. The scrollwheel looks like it's been improved.

I liked the original DA, but that's just me.

Gratz on your new purchase BTW.

Looks awesome, can't wait for mine to come. Is the top plastic or does it still have a rubbery texture?

Also, when I first looked at your pics I thought, "Why the hell did they put a signature on the side of the mouse like that??". Then I derped.

Only other sensor it could be is the new 3090.

I'll let you know once I receive mine but tbh, I think it's just due to this mouse not having LED's.

So tempted to buy since it wont have the glossy sides. I like the glowing logo on my 3.5G though.

The scrollwheel feels the same; probably just a change of colour. The texture of the DA is close to the Xai. Smoother and less rubberly than the Xai's texture.

The top is plastic. Feels really smooth. Cant describe how good it feels.
IMO, they should ditch the rubber idea and make the whole mouse from the material they use for the top.

I forgot to mention that I'm in Singapore. Razer Singapore deliver via a private courier company. Got in 2-days

Snip
Nice.

Do you know the Lift off Distance with that KAI.G3 by any chance?

Edit:

Just revived mine and I'm honestly in LOVE with the coating used on top of the shell. It's pretty similar to the Xai/Kinzu but feels slightly more plasticy.

The sensor works perfectly fine and doesn't produce any apparent jitter or flaws. I would love to open this up to check if they switched the sensor (hopefully an Avago 3090?

), but I rather wait for my replacement feet to get here first.

Oh and to those that are wondering, this utilizes it's own firmware. V1.00 just like the drivers

Like the standard 3.5G, the feet are slightly too thin and the body digs into the surface. I'm also not too fond of the scroll wheel, but it's defiantly better than what I'm used to (IE: 1.1/3.0)

Overall I am VERY pleased with this Razer product. I honestly wish that they would at least attempt to pump out more products without stupid glossy plastics and LEDs, but this is indeed a good start.

Pros:

-Sensor
-Body/coating

Cons:

- Scroll wheel
- Mouse feet too thin/bottom shell defect.
- High lift off distance on dark mousepads.

How does the top material compare to the original DA in terms of grip?

Also I fail to see why anyone would just want glossy plastic over the entire mouse and expect to use it for gaming or to stay looking as clean and shiny as when you first bought it.

Just give me back my ambidextrious Razer Copperhead with the same exact body and rubber side rails (less inward on the bottom sides would be ok too), a newer awesome sensor like the ADNS-3090, and larger, better feet and I will not find a reason to use anything else.

The lift off is higher on the KAI.g3. I'm not sure if that is because it is red.

I'm getting about 5mm (I don't have a setup that will keep the mouse totally level to measure with)

On my 9HD I'm getting about 3.25mm

Tested my EC2 on the KAI.g3 it gets about 1.2mm and on the 9HD 2mm.

There is not really a reason to use the "rebranded S3888" and I'm pretty sure they would advertise that.

You don't have CDs/DVDs around?

Sorry to hear that they still refuse to fix the dragging problem. I happened on the 3G, the 3.5G and now the black edition. How hard is it to fix the mold or put some thicker mouse feet? Many of their customers including myself have complained to them about it for the last year or so but I guess it doesn't matter to them.

Most likely not, but I'm kinda annoyed that this mouse still uses the standard 3G/3.5G glossy base shell on the bottom/front of the mouse. I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to put up with the regular models due to this gulk flaw that apparently only happens on razer mice.

That's true, but I find it kind of silly that people are still bashing the 3.5G (S3888 DA) and praise the 3G (S3668 DA) even though both sensors have had thier fair share of problems and now operate correctly without a single flaw or glitch besides maybe the lift off issues noticeable on both mice. Now unless there's a serious quality control issue, that shouldn't be the case. I think it's just people holding on to what others are saying.

If I confirmed the BE is using a newer sensor (IE 3090) there would be no reason to state that the standard 3G model is still "superior".
