I have a problem.
__________________My 30GB iPod is working perfectly. I have an enV on Verizon, and my contract ends in a few months. I need a way to get info on the go. Do I buy a 32GB Touch now and a cheaper (~$100) phone in a few months, or do I keep my current iPod and buy a Wi-Fi Smartphone, probably the Samsung Omnia, in a few months? I can't do an iPhone. The Verizon Family plan is too good of a deal for me to switch carriers ($10 a month for 700 shared minutes plus $10 for unlimited IN texting). Plus, the capacity limitation of an iPhone won't let me carry my entire 20GB music library. iPod Touch Pros: Can be used as a gaming device iPod Touch Cons: Limited to Wi-Fi areas Smartphone Pros: Verizon's required data package on smartphones doesn't limit me to Wi-Fi only areas. Samsung Omnia, for example, is half the cost of a 32GB Touch Smartphone Cons: Higher monthly bill than I'm currently paying Windows Mobile, although I hear the Omnia's version is an improvement

I recently got an ipod touch and I love it. Read this post for a bit more info.
http://www.overclock.net/computer-pe...ml#post5277331 I just have my old Razr and it works just fine. The games on the iPod touch are fun. I have a lot of free ones. I haven't bought many apps since there are so many free ones that do what I want, even a dedicated Woot.com app. I love the interface and find it very easy to use. If you are going to be around wireless networks a lot, go for the ipod touch. If you won't, you're going to pay for it but the smartphone may be the way to go. Does it have wifi too?

Yes, the Omnia is one of few Wi-Fi phones on Verizon.
__________________I found Verizon requires a $30/month fee for data on all PDA/Smartphones. That would bring my total to $50/month, and I can get unlimited texting and data on a basic voice plan on another carrier. Verizon does have the best network for call quality in my area, but I can get 450 minutes with unlimited texting and data for $55/month on Sprint (employer's discount), so I might hold off on the iPod and look into that. Especially since I'll be at college in the city next year, the network isn't a huge factor. Would anyone care to share their experience with a plan similar to the one I'm looking for?

I'd say it depends on the wifi capabilities of where you go the most. I live in a college town where wifi is everywhere for free so my touch gets lots of use.
