heh. :P

Guys help!
I'm being my usual self and not wanting something that is used, I can get the 16gb one for £20 more than 8GB one BRAND NEW but for £20 I'm paying for a used ipod with 8gb more space.

Will it be brand new or will it be noticeably used?

I must admit to having anti apple bias, but the iTouch is overpriced, slow (only able to handle 700KB pics), and the key board is difficult to use

If you are getting it from Apple, you won't ever know. So really it just depends where you are getting it from.

I've never used mine for pics so I wouldn't know too much about size but I do know that it will change the pic type when you put them on and it usually makes them MUCH bigger. If pics are your thing, iPod Touch probably isn't the way to go.

I wouldn't call it overpriced as the way it comes factory makes it a music player, planner, mobile internet device, and movie player. Add more apps and you can make it do whatever you want. PDA's were WAY more expensive and couldn't do half the stuff the iPod Touch can do as well as it can do it. I sync my calendars with Outlook so I can add things on my computer and they will just pop over to my iPod when I sync. Very handy.

As for the keyboard, I've never had a problem but I have skinny fingers. The new OS 3.0 adds horizontal support to more apps so the keyboard gets bigger and easier. If you do make a mistake, I've found the auto-correct works very well and you don't even have to fix the error, it finds it for you. But for someone with large hands, shaky fingers, or in love with actual keys it's probably not for you.

Apple bias, lol. But yeah, it does have SOME weaknesses. I just find they are completely overshadowed by the pluses (for what I use it for).

Ditto and even without jailbreaking them they are great.

Although I doubt they will ever have Flash support, Apple just wouldn't have it.

Just to let you know, their coming out with a new version of the Ipod Touch in September. I've got a 1st Gen Ipod Touch and love it; I'm selling it to my brother and getting the 3rd Gen when it comes out in next few months. You can read about the rumors and stay up to date at www.macrumors.com

I owned one for about 2 weeks, but couldn't get used to the flat sound from the headphone out. Personally, I prefer a punchier, warm sound and that's exactly what my $50 Sony NWZ-S616 pumps out. Just something to keep in mind if you're a headphone fanatic (read: you throw away ipod headphones as soon as you get them).

I would grab the Touch, they have excellent 3D games, pretty fast processor. Just a descent piece of hardware.

Eh, I would wait a few more months to see what Apple has in store for the next iPod Touch model. Preliminary cases and shipping info say that the next generation of iPod Nanos will have a camera on them, so it will be interesting what the other models will gain come September.
