Default (Android G1) Converting Widescreen DVDs to 480x320

Well thanks to the handy guide I found here I was able to use Handbrake to convert Video_TS and many other files to 480x320 or 480x272 for WS.

The only problem I seem to have is that when I convert Widescreen DVD video files to the 480x272 .mp4 format, it only fills a certain part of the screen (I have the horizontal black bars on the top and bottom)

Of course if I set it to fill at 480x320 it looks absolutely horrendous and stretched...is this just a fact of life I'll have to deal with or is there something else I'm missing? Still kinda new to the whole encoding/ripping scene

I'm gonna take a wild guess and guess that the reason for putting video on it is to watch it. :P

Gref, what's the native res?

native res is 320 x 480

depending on the video, i think its because the videos you are decoing at at 2.35 : 1 and not 16 : 9. That might be causing the bars to appear
