Default iPhone in Bermuda

Hey everyone, haven't posted in quite some time and I need a bit of help. I'm going on vacation to bermuda tomorrow for a few days, I'm pretty excited but I just got an iPhone 3gs. I've heard horror stories about people getting dinged for huge roaming charges and I'd like to avoid this if possible. I've been having trouble finding a definitive article describing my capabilities for the iPhone down there without getting charged. Is this even possible or should I just leave the thing at home. Can I take the sim card out and just use wifi? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you take the SIM card out, there is no way for you to get charged roaming fees as you wont connect to any cell networks.

That I dont know - I would be amazed if Apple was draconian enough to limit one functionality to the other.

On your phone, go to Settings -> General -> Network, and disable "Data Roaming". I think this will help avoid the issue, but I'm not possitive. For safety, I'd recommend the SIM card idea, just be sure to keep it somewhere you won't lose it. I suppose you could give the wireless network a try without the SIM card while you're still at home.

Take out your SIM card and turn your iPhone's Airplane Mode on.
