Default had a rough week with my iphone

last week i got my iphone 3Gs and loved it immediately, still hated itunes.

so, this wednesday, almost a week after i got the thing, the hold button, the vibrate switch and the down volume button stopped working. after a quick research on the web i found somebody who solved this same problem by applying pressure on the top corner of the device next to the faulty buttons.

thurdays, first week anniversary, nothing happened, but storm was brewing.

friday morning, i wake up, start itunes to see if a new podcast was online, saw that a new update was online and proceeded to update the thing. everything went fine until i get an error message near the end of the process. no worries, i'll just resync it. error message again, but now, itunes wouldn't detect the iphone anymore. i was late for work and had a brand new ibrick.

got to work, hook it to the computer there and restored the factory default. had to wait all day to see if i would be able to restore the phone with the backup that itunes made when i updated it. i was, and got everything back as before.

did anybody else had it happemn to him?

god i hate itunes

Sorry to hear that. Did you ever get everything working again properly? I know one of my friends had trouble with that and it took him awhile to get everything running smoothly again.

yeah, when i started the update in the first place, itunes did a backup. so when i got home after work, i restored that backup. i think some apps and files were missing, but nothing too bad. my contacts was still there, which was what is important for me.

I would have just gone back to the store and slapped the person asking why this kinda crap is happening.

it will just reinstall iTunes all your files will still be there, music apps, you can always back them up

go into the music folder and copy the itunes music folder. for the apps look for the *.ipa files and save those
