Default Need some help with the HTC Touch Pro 2.

So i just bought the HTC Touch Pro 2 for T-mobile. Are there anything fun that i can do with the phone? Is it easy to update the WinMo 6.1 to 6.5? Please help me thru since this is the first time i own a smartphone, pretty excited.

i would hold off on it for a bit if i were you, for 2 reasons. 1. HTC will be releasing an official update to do that. 2. you don't know how to use the phone yet, and the process of updating if you follow the procedure i list below will void your warranty.

it is easy but you have to be careful and read through the instructions. go to xda-developers.com, go to the touch pro 2 area and read the stickies and the posts in them.

DO NOT DO THE UPDATING UNTIL YOU ARE AWARE OF THE RISKS. and if it doesn't work don't blame me.

otherwise, why not familiarise youself with WM6.1 before going to WM6.5? it's like OCing a brand new PC before you even know how to use windows, lol. not a great idea.

Updating from wm 6.1 to 6.5, specifically for some HTC devices

I did update my toshiba protege g900 from 6.1 to 6.5, even though I had to use another guide, similar to the one for the HTCs. It runs a little faster, the touch functionality has been improved, you can drag any part of the screen and move into any direction (you don't need to scroll the bars anymore).

Edit: I must quote what -iceblade^ said, you must be careful and you'll void your warranty by doing this.

the best place to get all the information and help for the HTC is xda-developers. google it and it shall be the first link. Sign up to there forums and look around for guides into unlocking and debranding and installing custom cooked roms that can potentially help you use your phone to its maximum potential.

on my HTC Artemis ive installed over 50 different roms. if the update ever fails its soo easy torestore your phone. even more easy thent he iphone.

if you can get to the tricolor bootloader...

if you screw up and forget to modify the SPL for example... you're screwed. nearly had that happen with my 1st WM phone...

One more question, i need to replace my battery cover. I'm wondering if this cover + the battery is for the T-mobile HTC TOuch Pro 2? They states it's not for the Sprint one but i don't know if the Sprint was different than the T-mobile:
