The battery on my 30GB iPod video is finally dying. YES! That means I can justify an upgrade. I did consider the iPod Touch, but I started looking into things more, and the 32GB Walkman sounds pretty nifty: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855158046
I would have liked to see better reviews on it's web browser. One major appeal is I subscribe to Slacker Radio--which is integrated into the Walman, which would be awesome, no need to carry around my Slacker Portable anymore. The major downside is the price is probably $75 too expensive for the features, and the poor web browser support is a major turn-off. Text input is apparently alphanumeric, which would be kind of a pain (and odd since the screen is big enough to support a qwerty keyboard format). The Zune Platinum 32GB is the other option. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855604029 The web browser is apparently better, but it lacks flash support--which sucks. There's at least a youtube app for the Walkman. I like the full keyboard feature, and I've heard the Zune touchscreen is very nice and responsive. The iPod Touch has the best for web-browsing, and a ton of apps, but I kinda feel like branching away from Apple this time. Whatever I end up getting, it's basically going to be my portable music/video player--I'm not going to connect it to a TV for video viewing, so any pluses or minuses regarding video output aren't much of an issue. I doubt I'll have a problem with audio or video support formats. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2 for the Zune. Bias is fine. Means you have one and like it? Any things about it you particularly don't like?

Although I am a Zune fanboy the iPod destroys everything because of killer apps. I think it would be the best value for you.

Damn, not helping (lol). Thanks. I just assumed I'd get the touch, but I was curious about the alternatives. The apps are nice. But I figured I'd mostly just want a music/video player with wifi capabilities. Maybe even then, the touch is the better deal.

The iPod touch 3g is much faster than the Zune HD in just about everything.
The App store is bloated, but you don't have to use it. Even if 49995 of the 50000 apps are complete crap(and they are) you're still getting 5 good apps. And there is nothing like perfect GBA, SNES, and near perfect PS emulation. You aren't going to get the same level of support on the Zune. I went from a 30gb video to a 16gb touch and I have never regretted it, even before redsn0w.

Thanks. But I've read the worst horror stories about those. It's a nice idea, but apparently very flawed in execution. Lots of firmware issues, the touch-screen isn't responsive, and wi-fi is poor at best. Tech support is nonexistant and customer service is incompetent. I had high hopes for that when it came out, but after reading the reviews--which all mirror each other so it's probably not a few isolated instances--I'm going to steer clear of that. But thanks for the input!
