I bought a Touch Pro 2 with the mind of resale but they seem to be worth more if they're unlocked.

How would I go about doing that? I have the Tmobile version.

If you do some searching, there are services that will provide unlock codes. You'll need a non-Tmobile SIM card to perform the unlock (at least, I did with my Dash). And there will usually be a fee associated too.

You can also request an unlock code from Tmobile. But they usually only give them out if you have to cancel your service when you're out of your contract. They would prefer not to give these codes out as they subsidize the cost of the phone and want to make sure that you continue to pay the monthly service fee so that they can make their money back. But if there's a legitimate reason that you can't use Tmobile, like if you move to an area with bad or no coverage, they'll let you out of it.

This website i got from XDA forum and i think it is run by XDA Devs. Apparently you need to pay $18(Paypal or Google checkout) to get ur phone unlocked which i think not a bad price if you didn't know how to do it urself. I'm not sure if Tmobile version is compatible so you should email them before you order.
