Default mp3 help needed(Solved)

well my wife just bought a rca flash mp3 player(model#TH1702),It says that it run on xp(sp1),well she has windows 7 x64 on her pc & its wanting to use windows media player 10 or up,And i know windows 7 has like version 12.But there are firmware updates,the only thing is i don;t know what this firmware does(To update the firmware of the TH1700 series mp3 player to enable DRM free AAC playback click here.)

what is DRM free AAC playback?does that mean i can playback with any media player?

I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking so my response may be less than satisfactory but in any case here's a free bump!

To answer (what I believe is) your question, just upgrade the firmware. I don't see any harm in it. DRM is Digital Rights Management. Which means that you can't copy your audio files, which would restrict you from putting it on to your MP3 player (I believe). By updating it for "DRM free AAC playback" you effectively rid yourself of these DRM restrictions and thus, should be able to use and play your audio on and off your MP3 player.

P.S. If you don't know what firmware is, it's the basic "operating system," if you will, of your MP3 player.

ok,thank you for your responce,Well i try to install the firmware & to no luck(win7),But i guess we can use her media files,i copied some of her media on it & it played it fine
