I'm probably going to sell it soon along with my N95 8GB when my contract runs out and get an iPhone.

How can I tell what gen my current Touch is? I got it last December (2008) and it's model MB531BT. Any help?

The third gen has a faster CPU, more RAM, and a better GPU than the second gen. Other than that, nothing major.

the 3rd gen can be jailbroken but only tethered. and the boot loader is updated to xx.3.2 which only greenpois0n can untether it at. but they are saving it till the summer.

the shape..

i owned a 1st gen Touch, the back of it is flat with a black trim around the front...

the 2nd gen has a curve to the back, and has silver trim on the front...

i really didn't notice much difference at all besides the speaker in the 2nd gen*which sucks compared to the iphone*
