I've been looking through AT&T's selection of phones and I saw a phone that is refurbished (samsung impression) this one to be exact: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-pho...sku=sku3890283
But I've heard bad stories of refurbs and thier conditions. If anyone here has gotten a refurb phone, can you tell me what kind of condition it was in when you got it? I already know that these phones have a 90-day warranty but saving $105 on a phone is pretty signifigant.

I've had two refurb phones - a Nokia 3210 which was built like a tank and arrived in near-mint condition (there were some scuff marks on the non-removable part of the plastic shell) and survived probably six years of abuse at the hands of myself and other family members when I 'handed it down'. The second was a Sony Ericsson clamshell phone - I forget the exact model - which worked OK for the most part but was forever needing to be fixed when the aerial wire disconnected in the hinge. More a design flaw than a flaw of the refurb, I think.
Either way, my refurb experiences of phones haven't been bad. No experience of Samsung refurbs, though. (Obviously as I'm in the UK they haven't been refurbs from AT&T, either...)

I have had four refurb phones from AT&T and they were in like new condition. I actually couldn't tell they were refurbished.
They are still working like they should also.

Alright thanks guys. Looks like i'm going to be getting it then. Also one more question, can you opt out of the data plan you're in currently by saying your iPhone "broke" or any other excuses? (I'm going to sell it and get out of data plan, since it's quite a lot).
+reps.

You should be able to, if you aren't using an iPhone anymore.
