Default Question about Net Neutrality & Cellies

Can my Cell phone provider continue to limit my Picture Messages to 400kb? Thus rendering anything 1.3Mp+ useless? Im not reading much about NN and I know you guys are so inform me.

I just think its BS I cant send any pic over 400Kb unless its to email. Doesnt seem very 'neutral' if I can send 2 200Kb pics in a row.

I'll be watching the World Series so I might not respond frequently. Go Yankees!

As far as I know, mobile companies can do whatever they please. That's why they get away with charging exorbitantly for SMS, when it costs them nothing.

Also, neutrality is when your ISP gives no priority to any particular traffic, or protocol.
The size limitation seems either a limitation of the network standard it uses between phones or because of device limitations.

It cant be either because I can send over 400Kb to email. And I can send voice recordings up to 3MB. I think its because they don't want to use up their tower bandwidth, which should be covered by NN. I hope FCC takes action against Cell providers next.

I hope so too. Congress was looking into price fixing of SMS since the big 3 (ATT, VZW, Sprint) all raised prices to $0.20/text at the same time. Once enough consumers figure out they're getting royally screwed, big business will have more influence over laws than consumers do.

The FCC has recently grown a pair, but still haven't been doing enough IMHO.
