Default Iphone 3G/GS wifi and such

hi guys, well I would like to get an Iphone of some sort. but my question is does the wifi cost money to use? because the guy at my local phones4u store said that you have to pay for wifi and internet access... also which one should i get the 3G/GS? I would like the 3.2 camera but if it's exceptionally costly then is there another reason to justify it?

The guy at the store who told you that was feeding you bull. Other than the cost of the actual wifi, to use wifi on your iPhone is free. As long as you can connect to it and you have the password (if password protected) then you are fine. It does cost however to use the internet when not connected to a WiFi network. Unless you have a data plan, i would highly reccomend not using the internet when disconnected from wifi. Personally, the 3.2 mp is really not worth the extra money. I personally would go with an iPhone 3G. But thats my opinion, depends on the situation and how much money you have. If you are going with an expensive plan, and you are getting the 3GS at a low price then why not? Just keep in mind, the iPhone 3GS, if you were to buy it now you would not be able to unlock/jailbreak. However on the iPhone 3G, you will be able to, and through jailbreaking you can get many features which would not regularly be available to the 3G.

Hope this helps!

The most updated firmware of 3GS is jailbreakable. You just need the right firmware and software. As for the wifi, it doesn't cost you anything to use the wifi adapter inside the iphone but if you connect to a network pay per minute system (Airport maybe?) then your getting charged.
