I'm debating with my cousin that a pc lcd monitor looks just as good or better as an hdtv when you hook it up to a xbox 360. Am I right?

I find that offensive!

there are some LCD monitors that have 720P quality. I'm not sure about 1080p.

1080p? not bloody likely, mabye 1080i though, however the average user can't tell the difference, i'll be interested to see if ppl really upgrade when 1080p tv's come out, (they'll be LCD and OLED most likely) not to mention wheather or not the cable companies will up theyre service too.

..the party can start now

a 20" 4:3 will have 1600x1200 resolution...and thats way more than HD.

Here is a list of monitor and TV resolutions from greatest to smallest:
__________________Monitor 1920x1200 (2,304,000 pixels) HDTV 1080p: 1920x1080 (2,073,600 pixels) Monitor 1600x1200 (1,920,000 pixels) Monitor 1280x1024 (131,072 pixels) Monitor 1440x900 (1,296,000 pixels) HDTV 720p (921,600 pixels) Monitor 1024x768 (786,432 pixels) I hope this helps. Keep in mind though, that even though a 1920x1200 monitor has a higher resolution than 1080p HDTV, the TV, being a lot bigger, will probably look more impressive
