Default Opinions on the monitor I am looking to buy...

What do you talented and experienced people have to say about this LCD?

It will be my first flat panel buy ever. Actually, it will be my first monitor buy ever. Every monitor I have had in the past I have either picked up for free, or was given to me...

Newegg.com - Acer AL2223Wd Black-Silver 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers - Retail

I like acer. They seem very dependable.

Not bad, but I'm not a fan of 22". Same resolution as 20"ers, and since it's bigger, the pixels are bigger and the picture's not as sharp. I say stick to 20" or go for a 24" if you want bigger.

Also, I think there are better choices in that pricerange.

I was trying to stay close to the lower $200 range. Are there any 24" monitors in that range that are somewhat dependable?

24"ers are around £400. No way you will get one for that price.

Acer is pretty good, from what I've seen/heard there quality is close to/on par with Samsung/Dell etc. My only suggestion would be that unless you really want the silver color, I would get the one below for about $15 less.

Yeah I figured that one out pretty quick when I searched for anything over 22".

That price jump is crazy...

Yeah I was looking at both of them. I am now considering LG and samsung, but I don't care for samsung very much. I like LG a lot.
