Default how would this be for the PS3

how would it be. its 16:10 and the ps3 is 16:9 so would that make a difference. also it has built in speakers but i want to use external speakers for my sound when playing the ps3. would the speaker work through and hdmi cable or just that audio input. would this work and how would i do it?

also would this be backwards compatible to work with 720p games also

Yeah that's the problem with using a computer LCD for a game console. 1680x1050 is just below 1080p, so you will not be able to do 1080p .
