Hey, I just changed the resolution on my monitor to a lower resolution of 1440x900, can I set it so that it doesn't stretch to the screen size whenever I do that?
Well, actually, I know that I can, but I forgot how.

I think it's something to do with scaling, in the display properties...I'm on an ATI comp now, so I don't know which tab it is, but it's in there somewhere

I'm not sure what your asking, but this is how you make it so it doesn't stretch to fill up the whole screen, but there will be black bars around the edges:
Go to the Nvidia Control panel, then select "Change Flat Panel Scaling" in the side menu and then select "Do not scale": ![]()

duckydude, I don't have that option in my nvidia control panel. Any ideas why? I'm using 169.28 betas.
Could it be because my monitor has no dvi input and i'm on vga? I'm getting a dvi to hdmi cable within the next couple of days because I don't want to run vga on this new monitor.

![]() If that doesn't work, it might be a beta driver issue, I never use the betas, so I wouldn't know.

It is a flat panel, just no dvi input, i'm getting the dvi to hdmi soon, I guess i'll find out then. I did find an option to create my own resolutions and choose the scaling types out of display, adapter, centered, and fixed aspect. I made my 1440 x 900 resolution and checked all four of those, and none of them would allow me to just have black space around the actual resolution. I'll see if I can fix that when my dvi to hdmi cable comes in.

When I first set it to 1440 x 900 it said adjusting and stretched it to fullscreen, but I can't figure out how to change that. It also has an option to change from vga to hdmi input, but I don't have that cable yet so it doesn't do much good.
