Yeah i think it would be too much of hassle to hook up to a media pc too. Computer monitor seems to be the way to go. Wish I had an extra one, gotta look for a deal on a 15".

cool one moots.

I just realized I have a ton of LCDs at my shop. We repair laptops and sometimes we gut laptops, I have a ton of 17" there.

ALSO I get projectors for free in electronic scrap!!!

hahaha...now I know what to do with those projectors

Well, my roommates use it more than I do. I've got my 24" and HD DVD drive in here so it looks a lot better than my homemade piece of crap

But yeah, they burned out bulb number one. Its probably got about 20 hours left on the second bulb.

So about 50 hours then? How much are the bulbs for the 9700, looking at parts for this, trying to decide if long term it will be worth it.

Yeah, I'd say about that long. You'll spend more on the power bill for it though (~500w/hr).

Yeah I'm still thinking I'm going to do it. I don't pay for my power anyway, utilities included in the apartment. Just lurking on ebay for some good deals on the 9700 and a screen.

I'm not going to link it, but I put up for sale the other two screens I had, but without the logic boards and such. Useless to me, but someone is bidding on them.
