Default Is my apple cinema display dying?

For christmas 2006, I got my aunt's old 23'' apple display as a gift when she upgraded to a 30''. I'm using it now on my new build. Recently i've been having a problem, where when i leave for school or work all day, and when i return and boot up my pc, the screen wont turn on. I hit the power button on the side of the screen, and the light flashes for a second. If I let it sit, or play with the power plug on the screen, eventually it will turn back on. I've tried calling apple about it, but every time I did, the screen would start working again while i was on hold, and then when i explained it to them, they said it was strange, but unless they could recreate the problem they would not be able to help me. I'm pretty sure that its out of warranty, and I really cant afford a new screen right now, so do you guys know what exactly is wrong, and if its fixable? I could take it to the store, but only if left with no other option

Oh and it does the same thing on other computers i've tried it on, so i dont think its the computer itself.

Sounds like it is dying, do you have an Apple store nearby?

I have a few, I need to find the time to make an appointment and visit. Thats why I was wondering if I was able to do it without finding a way to carry a 23'' display into a mall.

It did this about a month or two ago, then recently stopped, and now it does it every night when I come home.

If it keeps doing it every night it will be worth it to bring it to the Apple store.

Sounds like the transformer is overheating or just a dodgy switch, the swith would not be hard to replace if you know what you are doing but im pretty sure opening it up will void any warranty it has
