Viewsonic VX992, 2ms 19" 5:4 because I hate widescreen! (this screen is also used by some pro gamers)

They even claim it's "WORLD'S FASTEST LCD"

If you think rap sucks or isn't "real music", quit being pretentious and go sample something that isn't on the radio:
De La Soul, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Brand Nubian, Canibus, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Gang Starr, Digital Underground, Kanye West, Immortal Technique, etc.

Better yet, try to make a 4 minute spoken word poem read to a beat that doesn't suck or sound corny if you think hip hop has no talent.

Best Monitor? Almost any reputable company produces good flat screens. Whether it's 2ms or 8ms really makes no difference. You will not notice anything lol.

I know I'm late with this, but I have an older Samsung, model 204T from around 2005 or 2006. I got it for cheap after they discontinued it for the newer line. All the reviewers who got to A/B the older model and newer model said the older model definitely looked a whole lot nicer.

I got my sister the newer model for her birthday one year and got the chance to see the difference.

I must say the older model was and still is excellent. Only 60hz though, but the colors are still extremely vibrant and the contrast is the best I've seen among a LCD costing in the three digits. I'd like higher res, at least 1920x1200 but it would be hard to find a monitor that looks this good without paying a lot.

The newer model however, may be a little better than most the competition, but not by much. Using any Dell monitor after mine is extremely painful, but using a Dell after my sister's is not very noticable. I should note that I have problems with the image quality on Dell monitorss... often have a hard time reading text on them because it's blurry and they give me a headache.

From my experience, most monitors by most reputable companies DO look about the same. Unless it has a major design flaw that will cause it to break, it's hard to go wrong. Like I said, I do have issues with every Dell I can recall using, but as long as it's not a Dell or some generic brand I've never heard of, it will be good.

The Samsung I have is one that really stands out.

You can always get the Asus PG221 (22") but you could get a couple of descent 24" for that price, or even here you can get a cheap 32" HDTV but the Asus PG221 is amazing but expensive.

Just so you know.....I wouldn't be in a hurry to get your mail in rebate back from Samsung.....It took me 9 months.....no kidding, just got it last week. Getting ahold of their Rebate Center was a nightmare.
