Default Just bought a 32inch Samsung. Connect to PC?

I just got a Samsung LN32A330 720p 32inch.
Before I even open the box I decided to do some research online and I came across this on Newegg.

Quote:
Cons: I went through the setup for connecting a PC to this TV via the HDMI input (port 2) which is supposed to be supported by the unit according to the manual. This TV does not support all the resolutions that it claims. Specifically the 1360x768 resolution which is the native pixel amount for the TV. Although it is a 16:9 aspect ratio TV it does not support 16:9 signals from a DVI to HDMI, it only supported the 4:3 ratios where the pixels didn't exceed the native pixels stated above. Got it working via the D-SUB connection (1360x768@60Hz) but the analog signal looks very washed out compared to the digital signal.
Will I be able to connect this to my Sig Rig with no problems? I'm worried now. I have a DVI-to-HDMI cable but I don't want to open the box unless I'm sure. Can anyone shed some light?

Hi there,

Personally I can't give you the go ahead to open it, but I can give you my experiences with my tv.

I have a Toshiba Regza, I had a good few problems connecting mine to the pc. At first I was using the vga connection and everything scaled fine at all the resolutions the tv was capable of.

I then bought a dvi - hdmi connector and then the problems started. Whatever I did, I could not get the nvidia card to scale to widescreen. But a new graphics card driver later and all was solved. It recognised the tv's name/model. It did think it was a 1080p (it's 720p), but I could still just switch to the resolution I wanted.

Whether things will work out that well for you, I don't know I'm afraid.

I would say send samsung an email, but customer service is usually less than helpful.

Well I went asleep with the manual and I read that a PC connection only works in the second HDMI slot. Then online I found that you have to make a custom resolution in your control panel.

So I went for it this morning and it looks awesome.
All I'm missing is some HD content.

My 32in HDTV displays 16:9 fine with a DVI-to-HDMI cable, but it only displays at 1280x720 which is still 720p.
