When I can buy two near-paper-thin 24" wide screen OLCD screens and then seemlessly join them side by side while using a resolution of 3840 x 1200 on my computer games, then I'll get two monitors. But, until games make fantastic use of them, I'll stick with just one.

I'm planning on eventually getting another 20" WS to pair with my current one, but it's down on my list of priorities and up there on cost, so it won't be very soon. It'd be nice though.

Non SLI wont allow you to run the game on more than 1 screen.

It is a Matrox solution.
That is the reason why Matrox still sells products.
-> read my previous post ;o)
Hmm, I have two Asus 3870X2 TOP cards...total of 8dvi outs...I can't speak for SLI working more than 1 screen though I have heard that it can in fact work from a reputable tech.

As for quad-x-fire...it will work just fine...this I know for sure...as for hooking all 8 up 4 bottom & 4 top i don't know yet if x-fire would work as such...but for sure 2 do.

I use a 26" WS as my primary display and an old 17" crt as my secondary. The larger monitor can hold its own, but an additional monitor is really a nice supplement.
I just lost support for the second monitor when I switched to Fedora 9 (until new drivers come out), but it's not too bad since I can at least switch workspaces now.

I *think* he was suggesting that spanning the game over multi-mons = fail.

I often play a (mmorpg) game on my main mon and have a crappy lil mon to view forums, guides etc

Multi-Mons are also incredibly useful for studio-apps like Cubase, Nuendo etc. (score in one mon... mixer in second mon... effects in third mon etc.)
