I'm super happy with the monitor thats for sure, I've hooked up my acer 19" and my sony HDTV to compare the blues out of my curiosity and I cant see a significant difference in the actually hue of the colors ? Maybe I got a good one ? The blues seem very true! I also downloaded a Blue planet 1080p clip that has a lot of blues in it and it looks quite amazing and the colors look very great!
I would not worry about it at all. If everything looks natural then you're kosher and good to go. The actual difference is probably only distinguishable if you have a calibrated monitor sitting next to it. I would be very happy if I were you! Money well spent.

I have been doing a lot of research and figured I'd give you my advice:

I'm gonna go with the Gateway FHD2400 pretty soon since it offers loads of features for the price.

I definitely wanted VGA, DVI and HDMI so that limited me to very few right there.... and after looking I realized I could get tilt/swivel/component/composite for only $80! Figured it was worth it... also this is a great gaming monitor (3ms).

You'd be better off with the Samsung 24 inch for the same price. I've heard nothing but average/bad reviews on the Gateway monitor.

It also has deplorable color accuracy. Even calibrated it is horrible.

Has done me good, might do you good. Though you need to have some epic video card to play with a 24in, lol :O
colours are amazing, especially when compared to about 15 other screens at the shop. Even though others were 2000:1, etc:1, etc, they didn't show nearly as much colour as this one, the bright colours stand out the best. Anyways,
Second'd.

It's vertical angles aren't the best though. You can find it one sale for as low as $280. And a single HD4850 is plenty to drive it.

You realize manufacturers make the default brightness of their displays high because the average consumer thinks brighter = better display. I hope you didn't fall for that.

Any thoughts on the BenQ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824014173 I'm looking at it since it has HDMI/DVI/and VGA, having all three would be very useful in my situation.

I have looked into it myself and although you can find people recommending it, that means very little without numbers to back it up and I have found absolutely nothing in terms of testing reviews on that monitor. The closest thing I found was an obscure foreign website suggesting that the color gamut coverage was 72%, which is average but lower than the 3 other monitors I mentioned in a previous post. If you can get it for significantly cheaper than the other 3 I suggested then go for it, but if I were you I would stick with the 3 monitors for which actual numbers have been produced through testing (the Samsung 2493HM, ASUS MK241, and Dell 2408WFP).

This monitor can not be beat. I'm getting one with in the next couple months as my new main, while keeping my 22" as my second.

HDMI rocks. Hook up the ole TWC HD box BAM 1080i. Play BluRays in full HD+. On top of that it has DVI-D so you can hook up the PC and the TWC set top box at the same time.

That Gateway monitor SUCKS badly. I've owned a few Acers and none have ever let me down. There is no better price/performance ratio in any monitor that is as good as Acer's imo.

Yeah, except there are no quantitative reviews on that monitor either so your word is just your word. And it's not like that's the only monitor to have an HDMI port.
