Default LCD better in any way to CRT

As far as performance goes do LCDs (as in even the top ones) have any advantage over an CRT Monitor?

every advantage.

let's see... capable of higher resolutions, digital input, better for your eyes, light-weight...

The only time the CRT would come out on top is if you display something in a non-native resolution.

*EDIT* LCD refresh rate is measured in terms of ms(milliseconds) as opposed to CRT hz(hertz).

And for example, a 12ms refresh rate is equivalent to 83.3 Hz. My LCD is 2ms, u do the math.

No, Not really. CRT's are excellent for color reproduction, depending on which one you buy of course, none the less all of them should be good. Viewing angles are nothing to worry about, refresh rate is excellent for gaming. The FW900 is known as the best CRT made to date. I should know because I have one in my basement rig. My only problem with crt's is the size and weight, and warm up times. Comparing any LCD to an FW900 is silly. Only a plasma display will look better than it. LCD technology is rising, but still noting to destroy CRT for. If you love movies and play games, the FW900 is for you . CRT's are capable of running very high resolutions, even sometime with out having to scroll. I can run 2560x1600 @ 75Hz on my 24"FW900.

Power consumption, no refreshing, and size are the big advantages of LCDs.

CRTs did hold a lead over color reproduction and still beats LCDs in blacks. However, LCD is catching up on these two.

I run 1600x1200 85 hertz on my CRT. Then again this thing weighs literally 60 lbs. EDIT: make that 68.5, lol.

I second this. The FW900 is H@#$ crap one of the best of the best.

Crts tend to have better color (unless you get A 5,000 LCD), no ghosting (nanoseconds here) & look great on any resolution (even ones high than what it says it can go).

If you are a gamer that plays different resolutions - wants no ghosting and want better color get a CRT.

You don't get ghosting with CRT's, which can be very annoying in gaming or watching movies. If CRT's weren't so big, I would've never bought a LCD.
