Default 120HZ HDMI cable?

Ok I got the Samsung 40A650 and run it at 120Hz. At bestbuy my HT department is giving me this crap about having a cable rated at 120Hz is the only way to get a 120Hz picture. Is any of this true. I get a 4 foot 120 Hz Monster 1000 HDMI cable for 44 dollars and the next step up is about 80 dollars and is only 7 feet i believe.

Do I really need a cable rated at 120 Hz or can I just use a HDMI cable from RiteAV.com?

I already got a 4 foot one. But I need a long one. According to wikipedia, HDMI 1.3 is rated at 340MHz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#HDMI_1.3

Yeah, but regardless of most of the disrespect that a lot of people here have for best buy employees, they know their stuff, especially the guys in tvs.

Lol, Best Buy bull****

Any HDMI cable is the same, there's no difference except brand name and price tag.

And i work in computers. I'm not too sure about people in my store though. When i was hired a girl was hired to work in HT. The thing is, she didn't know the difference between a plasma, LCD and DLP was. She still works there now.

Remember bestbuy doesn't care if you know what your talking about. They only care if you sound convincing enough to make the sale.

Hell I know this for fact because they will stick me in Cameras even though the only thing I know about cameras is the higher the MP the better. Which cameras are better? I dunno.

Plus I shouldn't have to explain to my department what parts of the computer does what and why they are important. You should come in knowing something rather than being oblivious. Then again most people get hired cause they know someone who works there. I didn't have friends in bby to refer to. Well in my store at least.

bestbuy salesmen's purpose is to sell, and thus lies must be told

if you bought a monster cable then you were ripped off, especially HDMI cable because it's digital. monster cable has like a 10000% profit rate so if they can sell one they made a huge profit.

do you see people changing dvi cables for faster refresh rates?? dvi and hdmi are the same signal dude.

btw 7" hdmi cable is about $15 max, and there is NO QUALITY DIFFERENCE from monster

Well I got it 5% above store cost so I only paid $44 where as others paid about 120. Screw it im ordering from riteav. Even I was tricked by my co-workers. He just sounded so convincing. But then again, I can convince people in to spending $130 for having Geeksquad install AV and anti-spyware and disable a few startup programs.
