Overclocker in Training

Hi. I am fairly new to Overclock.net and I haven't really introduced myself. Name's Jake, from the cold state of Wisconsin and I am proud to be amongst such an educated group of people!
Anyways, I am looking for a new monitor and I have heard that the glossy finish of the HP's and Gateway's is a great feature to have to enhance colors as well as sharpen images. I was looking between these two monitors and I was wondering if there is any advice you guys have as to which one to get. I just got rid of a Samsung 19-932BW monitor I sold to a buddy to get a 22" monitor. 24" is just to big for me I think. Anyways, here are the links, tell me what you think! Any help is greatly appreciated!!! HP: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....#productdetail Gateway: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1188560797509

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1201913867539 should be better than both of those. The other popular one is the Samsung 2253.

If you can get a larger screen with a higher resolution then go for it and before commiting to a screen visit a store and stand in front of one for a couple minutes mess around with them it helps in making a decision. If you ever plan on going for 24inch i picked up a samsung 245bw for gaming for around 450.00 and it kicks ass.

In-store demos are only useful when the monitor is hooked up directly to a PC. Don't make a purchase based on the wall of LCDs they have as people have usually messed with the settings on those to no end and they're usually all going off of a single degraded signal, making the monitors look worse than usual. What you can do is check the physical aesthetic of the monitor and the viewing angles.
