Well I have an Xbox360 and am using the 360-VGA cable to my 22'' monitor.
__________________I'm wanting an HDTV but I'm wondering if 1080p is all its cracked up to be... I was contemplating between a nice 30'' or bigger 720p TV and then spending money on a better monitor just for my computer system. Orrr buying a highquality $1000.00+ 1080p HDTV and using it for both my 360 and my Computer... Decisions, decisions....

It depends on how far away you sit from the screen.

If you are going to be close to the monitor, then I recommend forgoing HDTVs and getting a good 24"er (2408WFP has a load of inputs and is a great panel). Obviously, it's smaller, but closer up, the pixel density is higher. This would also be perfect for a PC.
I don't think HDTVs are great for PCs. The pixel density is too low, in my opinion. Probably because I'd dislike being far enough away when using a computer. I think 1080p is extremely nice when you are gaming at watching stuff. Although be warned - upscaled stuff looks worse at higher resolutions than at lower resolutions. If you have HD content to watch, fine, if not, probably not a great investment. As you are talking about your 360, I'll presume it's fine.

I use my 360 and ps3 onmy 22" monitor and sometimes hook them up to my 32" 1080i and 27"1080i and the picture is phenomenly better then my monitor. I dont know how computers look on them though.

Unless you use it like a computer monitor (i.e. sit like 2 feet from the screen), 1080p is only worth it for a TV at around 40" or higher.

If it's just for the 360, then don't bother with 1080p. Almost nothing renders at 1080p.

Yeah but the 360-VGA cable doesn't let me run at 16:10 resolutions...
