Default Using 21" TV as a monitor?

So I had this crazy idea of using it as a monitor is this realistic? Would the res be 1680x1050?

Is it an lcd tv?

I think my 19" tube tv is limited to like 800x600.

Also picture quality is terrible.

TV's generally have a worse quality than actual monitors. Monitors tend to have a better contrast ratio and overall brightness level. The picture will be blurry and grainy and ghosting is surely a factor.

The res would not be 1680x1050 as this is generally an LCD monitor resolution. The res would most likely be 1024x768 or the really weird one that starts with 13..(I forget).
