hi guys,
i have a 32" samsung that i want to hook up to my 8800gtx. my current setup is a VGA cable from my pc to the hd. i recently bought an HDMI cable and was debating whether or not to buy a HDMI to DVI adapter to hook up my tv via DVI/HDMI instead. would i notice any difference? the tv is 720p if anyone is wondering. thanks!

not much difference tbh, i have a cable made for dvi-to-hdmi
vga is semi easier to configure if you use the hdmi, you can setupo tv mode, and adjust how it fits your screen

I have a Samsung 32" 720P TV too. I used VGA for a while, now I'm using HDMI since it came with my 3870 and its nice, but I didn't notice any changes. Up to you if you want to but the adapter or not.

I noticed a huge difference in picture quality of even DivX movies when I went from VGA to DVI on my 22" LCD. The difference was almost like going from watching SD programming to HD programming, at least to my eyes it was that dramatic.

With a 720p HDTV you may not notice a difference between VGA and HDMI, when you get to 1080p some HDTVs don't support 1080p over VGA and Component at which point you need HDMI to get the resolution you want, and even then some people say that HDMI looks superior to component/VGA. I would say if you have the necessary cables/adapters to hook it up via HDMI try it and see if it makes a difference, if not you can just stick to the VGA.
