Default Monitor Problems - PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I just got my new PC up and running 2 days ago, and my effing monitor stops working.
I come home from school, sit down, press the power button, and nothing happens.

The blue power light on my monitor doesn't come on. The screen just keeps flashing from dark black to light black to dark to light constantly.

I've tried different power cables, I've tried changing the fuse for the power cables. I can't think of anything else to do.

In-case it helps, the monitor isn't brand new with the system, it's about 3 years old.

hmmm...

I had an LCD monitor once that did something like that. The backlight had a short in it...

If I remember correctly I think you can replace the back light for pretty cheap- it just is a pain to do as it requires soldering and whatnot.

Try plugging your monitor into his PC. Sounds like a monitor power supply or backlight fault. Might be easier to replace than fix
