I just check mine it support 1920x1080, 1768x992, 1600x900 and other 16:9 ratio resolutions. but the picture does not look that great at anything other than 1920x1080 since that's the native resolution.it does not support 1680x1050 because it's a 16:10 ratio resolution. however I assume there should be someway that you can force it to display such resolution but it will look bad since it's gonna be out of proportion. hope this will help

With the new GTX 260 216 and the HD4k series, 1920x1200 is the new sweet spot. Most games (baring poorly coded games like Crysis and Dead Space for ATI cards) can be maxed out with the above mentioned cards.

Everything looks better when the monitor is at it's maximum resolution. That includes movies, games, and just plain day to day use.

Im building a new setup and im going with this monitor for the fact that it can twirl around and its a gloss coated screen. Also saw it at circuit city and it is beautiful in person http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824176091

Well, i'm using a 4870 512MB (wich is being rma'd)
I might take a refund and buy a sapphier 4870 1GB.

Even if the GPU will be good enough, i'm having doubts if my cpu can take it.

Ive already had problems with fps at a 1280x1024 res when i had the 4870 installed. maybe it was the gpu itself. but if it's not I don't expect any smooth fps on that res.

The 1GiB model is useless at resolutions under 1920x1200. Here's the problem with the RV770, it's a godly chip, too godly. EVERYTHING bottlenecks it. CPUs, the memory speed, etc.

Under 1440x900, all GPUs are bottlenecked by CPUs. Your best bet is to try it out. A downgrade to a HD4830 might be worth it if you're not going to change your proc. It's not that you will get better frame rates, it'll save you a few dollars.

Well, i recently recieved a brand new 512mb 4870. Refund was out of option.

Anyway, I decided to buy the LG monitor.
http://www.alternate.be/html/product...l?artno=V5LKB6

I know its not as great as the samsung T220.
But this one saves me 70€ and thats just enough to add a x2 7750BE into my list.

So i'm now able to get a monitor, sata HDD, mobo & cpu for 400€
And I don't think 8000:1 is really that bad either.

You could have gone with a 1920 x 1080 22", but oh well. That is a decent monitor as well.

I rather just get a 16:10 one. I miss out one some prettier IQ but at least i'm sure games will perform well.
As with a 1920 x 1080, i'm pretty sure my 512MB would not be enough to keep newer games stable.
