Default Recommend me large monitors for ART

Alright, so I need new monitors. I do digital artwork, and I'd liek to upgrade these monitors; they really aren't great, and they aren't really big enough for my needs. I was originally going to go all out and grab a pair of 30 inch monitors, but the specs on the 30 inchers aren't that great, and xToaDx basically talked me out of it. dual 24 inch seems small to me, I honestly don't know though. So, aside the monitors ABOVE 800 dollars, what monitors can you suggest that are good for art AND games (I don't do heavy gaming, but I'd like the response time at 5ms or below please). My Wacom art tablet has an amazing screen, but I plan to sell it because the screen is just too small. So, let me know your thoughts, and give me a good reason, not just " SAMSUNG FTW!" Links to a place to buy are appreciated as well. Also, to give you an idea, the digital artwokr I usually work with us usually around 7000x4500px in size, and just generally viewing art, I want to not have to SCROLL to see the whole image, it's a pain.

some options:

26" NEC MultiSync EA261WM Review| Pricing

28" ViewSonic VX2835WM Review | Pricing

But if you're looking for best image quality then I highly recommend 20" NEC MultiSync LCD2090UXi-BK and the new 22" Apple LED Display. These displays are a smaller thou.

Thank you, I'll keep those in mind Also, price aside, what are peoples' thoughts on the Apple Cinema monitor line? I doubt I'd ever buy one, but I do know they look really nice.

My dad has a Cinema Display. Makes my display look like garbage for color accuracy.

Those apple cinema displays are nice. But as usual they're also super exspensive as apple likes to just cram all the lastest tech they can get their hands on. I do art stuff myself, and seeing as how you have a wacom already, you must be pretty into it. But honestly I would be happy with even a single 24". Whatever you do just don't go do something like buy the cheapest 28" you can find. I can definately tell image quality difference in all the displays we have at home compared to my samsung I use as my main computer.

As for recommendations... I would say samsung because I'm a little biased and have one after doing much research. Other then that the Dells are actually really nice, and look the part too.

I'd go for a 24" due to the higher pixel density.

Yeah, I figured as much 9not like your monitor sucks, but I saw one while I was destroying laptops at BestBuy, and I had to look twice) thanks for assuring me I wasn't just on an acid trip

yeah, I love my Cintiq, except that mine just doesn't have enough space on it. in lieu of the current situation, I might have to bear down, sell the Cintiq, both my monitors and some stuff, and go for the huge Apple display. I make enough so this isn't a HUGE HUGE deal..but I'm trying to decide if it's really worth it. My other concern is if it will ghost during games like Counter Strike: Source.. Marin, have you ever seen a game played on your dad's Cinema display?

yeah, don't blame you. i've watched a few videos on YOutube of some rich turrd who seems to like to record himself playing games on his 30 inch mac Cinema screen, they don't look to ghost, but obviously, looking through a highschool grade Sony camera, I can't tell. He doeesn't mention anything, so I'm going to assume iit'll be fine.

Well I would recommend the monitor that I have coming in the mail, which is the Lenovo L2440x ($550-650). It has an LED backlight which improves color gamut & the ability of the panel to render true blacks, as well as reducing eye strain from staring at the screen for long periods of time. Color accuracy is unmatched in this price range. The panel is shown to have very uniform distribution of colors and backlighting which makes it superior to standard lcd monitors for photo editing. Also if you're environmentally conscious, this is the most environmentally friendly monitor available. It contains no arsenic or mercury, which are poisons commonly found in standard LCDs.

I got it for $562 but its taking forever to arrive with the crap shipping from nextwarehouse (bunch of clowns over there). I settled on this one because it's the only one for less than $1500 that can rival the performance of a CRT. Not to mention that LED LCDs last much longer than the conventional type, use less electricity, contain less toxins, etc.

This Cnet page shows specs as well as places to buy down near the bottom. Also has a review from when the monitor sold for $750 (so cnet slams a perfectly good monitor for having a high intro price ).
http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors...tag=mncol;psum

If you're operating a really serious graphic design business I would recommend the Smasung XL-24 for $1600-1900, as it's a more dedicated & serious LED LCD graphics monitor. I will do colors better than just about anything due to it's RGB LED matrix!
