Default Short throw onto ceiling?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to use a short throw projector to project onto a ceiling from the top of a bookshelf or higher. My idea would be to use a short throw projector to go from my shelf onto my ceiling so I could do a winamp visualization on my ceiling during a party, just like a light show.

I think it's absolutely possible, but a very expensive idea, if you don't already own said projector. Short throw means $$$.

So you think that it would not project in a trapezoidal area? I think that it would end up looking squashed at the bottom and stretched at the top.

Not if it's a short throw projector. Most projectors have a moderate range of keystone adjustment, short throw projectors have super high angle keystone, since they are meant to be placed near the wall or screen. The issue is cost.
