Everything, especially annoying on photoshop and illustrator. But hey man, for the price i guess it aint all that bad for some people out there. Id rather pay extra for a good ('good' as in dark blacks and vibrant colors) display though.

I would also recommend getting a PANTONE for excellent color calibration. Its got sensors that automatically adjust the color, and vibrance, according to your ambient lighting. Good if your near a window.

I'm having problems seeing this "whiteness" on my Hanns-G 28" monitor...

I dont see anything wrong with mine.

I was specifically referring to blacks not being dark enough, thus looking more like gray.. and i noticed too, that the samsung, at least my model, has pretty decent viewing angles, not the greatest but decent.

you can't always go by contrast ratio numbers...some can be a gimmick.

best thing you can do, if you were to buy locally at a store is try out a few, then if you don't like one return it. Thats how I purchased my monitor I bought a gateway first, which I loved, but it got a dead pixel line after the first few days, then I got the Hanns, then I got the Samsung. Though I have used Dells, and LG's in the past, and I must say they are really good too. (as far as blacks and colors are concerned)

the only real way is to go into a store with your laptop, plug it in and play a movie at native res. What ever looks better wins.

I did this when buying my monitor.. the guys at Circuit city were like "Uhh sir, you need help?"

"hell no, Im just watching a movie"

exactly, keep in mind too that those monitors on display are all running at crap resolutions, So with that in mind, I would ask for them to adjust their resolution, or plug a pc or laptop to test each one out.

Like I said I loved the Gateway that i first bought, but in comparison, the blacks were just right on the Samsung, at least for the price, and my budget.

Yea, thats why I said I brought my own laptop and cables.. I brought a DVI and HDMI (just in case one was taken) and I tested the 3 monitors I was interested in. I decided which one, then went home and placed my order on newegg
