HANNS.G 28" vs Samsung 26" - Overclock.net

Hi everyone!

Since im going crossfire I cant use both my Samsung 22" at the same time when crossfire is enabled, therefor im swapping my monitors out as soon as I get cash again.

So the big question, what should I pick? I want from 26" and up and with 1920x1200 resolution, I do NOT want 2560x1200 since that just rapes every graphics card out.

I have been looking at two monitors that is in my price range:

Nr1: HANNS.G HG281DP 28"
Specs:
1920 x 1200
TCO 06
5ms
Contrast 800:1
500 cd/m2
DVI/VGA & HDMI

As far as I know I think its a TN panel?

Nr2: Samsung T260 26"
Specs:
1920x1200
5ms
300 cd/m2
Contrast 1000:1 with 20000:1 Dynamic
DVI/VGA, HDMI & USB 2.0

Don't know what panel this have, but I think its better than the HANNS.G if im not wrong?

Needs:
Must be very good for gaming
Good for movies
No ghosting
Warm nice colors preferably

So I have heard that HANNS.G is pretty decent, but I have never tried one. Samsung I have had countless monitors from, so I know they are good.

These monitors costs about the same here in Norway, so thats why I wonder what to pick!

Any thoughts?

Well as far as I know a 26" with 1920x1200 will give you a much sharper picture than a 28" with the same resolution, if that helps at all.

Samsung all the way. Samsung has great quality control and that panel just looks MUCH better. I agree that the 26" will be sharper, too.

This is a no-brainer.

btw -- for what its worth, I have owned/purchased 2 HannsG monitors (19") and 3 Samsung Monitors (32", 21.5", 24"). The samsungs have been far and away better than the HannsG.

I mean, both are big monitors and you would be happy with either, more than likely.

However, I say that you should go with quality over quantity (good panel vs. sheer size). If it was me, id do that sammy

I just got a hannspree HT09 in the mail todayt

decent quality stuff with great prices, but always has some tradeoffs. I'd go for the sammy

as the others have stated, always better

Well I have decided to go with the Sammy, I have always liked the monitors they make

You still forgot one thing about these two monitors: The power consumption. The samsung is all the way.
