Hey, I have been looking at this for a couple days but can't seem to figure it out. I have 2 1680x1050 LCD monitors hooked up to my GTX 260 set up in horizontal span mode and I want to watch video's across the two - like a big wide screen display. I realize this will stretch the video but I want to try it anyways. If someone could enlighten me on how to do it that would be great. I use VLC player so it would be nice if someone could explain how to do it in that but I don't mind getting another player either. Please provide step by step instructions if possible, tired of reading these half written instructions like "go to preferences then there is an option for it there". They are annoying and useless. Thanks in advance and +rep to anyone who helps!

There's probably a better way than this... but have you just tried restoring the video window, and dragging it to a size, so it spans both monitors?

I tried that before and it only displays half of the image and the part on the second monitor is just a black screen.

Yeah I just got dual screen and I've been trying to figure it out. Same thing happens for me too, I use MPC.

That's because your GPU is accelerating the video rendering. Try opening the video, leaving it open in the background (don't minimize it), then open the same video again and try stretching the second player over both screens. The second player shouldn't be accelerated, so it *might* work. I'll have to look into a more robust method... but you really don't want to do this, it's going to be a 2:1 stretch so it'll look AWFUL. You're going to drop it after a minute.
__________________A .15 stretch is already nasty, at 2:1 you're going to say "what is this i don't even" then close it.

download ultramon? it lets you stretch any program (except games I think) across both screens.

Well I've tried your suggestions guys, and thanks for them but I just can't get it to work properly
. Is this even possible? I suppose if the ratio will be terrible, there isn't much point in proceeding down this road..

wait really? ultramon lets you expand windows amongst multi monitors. On the top right of each window there should be a couple extra tabs (one switches window to the other monitor and the other expands the window so that it covers both screens). This feature may only be for a registered copy though. I don't remember if the trial version has it, but the registered version does have this capability.
