Default HDTV probelm

I bought a phillips 47" 1080p 120hz Tv, and when i hooked my HTPC up via HDMI cable, this happens.

Computer boots, the tv looks just like my normal startup screen. Windows loading just like normal. Then windows starts and the TV says no signal.

I have the resolution at 1920x1080 which the tv supports.

HTPC specs

Dell XPS 400

Pentium D 820
3gb 667mhz ram
XFX 8800GT alpha dog

What is going on here?

Make sure your video card can handle the resolution - and that it's set to use that rez...

For example, before newest patch - if I fired up BF2 on my 1900 by 1200 - it would get all funky because it tried to switch to a non-native resolution. Now that the patch handles that resolution - I'm fine.

Point is, if your previous monitor had it set for say 1280 by1024 - it might not know what to do once you plugged it in. Make sure your drivers are set to auto recognize the monitors - and are prepared to use that rez..

good luck, hope that helps. If not, try reinstalling the drivers and try again - sounds like your connection via HDMI is fine.
