Default Which 2048x1152 monitor?

I am buying a new 2048x1152 monitor and need to know which one is the better choice for the money.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001317

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009173

I can pay for either one, but I am worried about the samsung because it seems a lot of people are having bad experiences.

Thanks alot

Go for Samsung. So far, I haven't had a bad experience with them. Acer on the other hand...

The Samsung has more reviews, adding more insight than with the Acer. The Samsung is also much cheaper, and ships for free.

Do some research of your own, surfing the 3rd party sites. Just search google for the item names and you're bound to find everything that you need.

Samsung all the way.

The amount of people whose monitors went wrong are small in comparison to the amount of people whose monitors still work.

And Samsung make amazing monitors. And it's cheaper. And it looks better.

I got an Acer monitor last year and it hasn't had any problems. Mine is a 22", but I like it a lot!

edit: If you live by a Microcenter then go there, because they have a lot of deals on monitors. Also if you buy from New Egg, just buy whatever is the cheapest, so go for the Samsung. I bet they are both really nice!

I'd go with the Samsung, they've got great build quality and in this case, they're cheaper.

Don't ever buy anything by the number of eggs it has, most of those guys think their web browser is Google.

What are you using the monitor for? Gaming, video/photo editing, etc.? The reason I say this is because that resolution sometimes doesn't play friendly with video cards and games. Occasionally, and with some NForce drivers, you would have to manually set the resolution in the Nvidia settings. Also, depending on the games you play, you will undoubtedly receive a nice framerate drop in some games with that res. Have you considered one of the many hundreds (and cheaper) 1920x1080 screens?

Not so fond of 16:9 monitors but go for it anyway.

I agree. If you are gaming, or watching HD movies, 1920x1080 is the resolution to go.

Your purpose for buying this type of monitor would be very useful.

Why not? It's the standard for HD. Or do you just not like the shape?

It's the standard for non-windows/games solutions.
Works good on actuall 16:9 content though.
To bad most of the 16:9 claimed videos are 24:10 or similar (24:10 = 1920x800)

This monitor will eventually be going with a 5850. I have a 1080p monitor now. But the res is not enough for multitasking. This monitor with my current 1080p together should be awesome, I only play games 15% of the time, when I am on my computer. The rest of the time I am doing school work, multitasking and learning to program, usually all at once.

I bought the samsung from here http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2343BW...6769522&sr=8-1

Thanks for your help guys, + rep to helpfull post's.
