Default Need TV advice

sup homies! ! ! !

well lately the remodel of my new house has been a PAIN but its almost done, and im wanting a new TV so i am making a fund with the extra money from a moving sale to buy a new TV My wife and I will place it above our fireplace, on the built-in shelf, no wall mounts. The spacing between the top of the shelf and the ceiling is 36". After discussing it with my wife, i have a limit of 42" that we feel will make a good fit on the shelf. Now what i need is an idea of what to get, i don't mind Plasma or LCD, my budget would like to be around 700, also depending on how the moving/yard sale goes in the amount of funds gained, right now i have 300.00 saved. I have been looking at Best Buy's house brand, Insignia (i think its spelled right) because ive been told that the internals are LG and the 42" goes for about 600 with taxes. But advice and input is great on which to buy. My favorite brand also is Samsung, ive had good flat screens from them in the past.

thanks

I have two Sharp Aquos LCD's and they are both great. One is a 32" and I use it for my monitor (almost 2 years old), the other is a 52" and it is in the living room (less than a year old). Both are 1080p and have ok speakers. The 52" is more than you want to spend, but I picked up the 32" on eBay nearly 2 years ago for $900... I'm sure you could get it for less now.

Cool, I thought you were just saying that 42" was your absolute limit.
