Overclocker in Training

I have 2x Radeon 4890's running in Crossfire, I want to run 3 monitors using Windows 7. 2 of the monitors are 19" Acer's, 1 is 25" Hanns-G. If I plug in 2 of the monitors to my first video card and 1 into the second, it won't detect the 3rd monitor at all. If I use a splitter and plug all 3 into the 2 ports on my first video card, it detects the third monitor but won't let me use it (says I need to disable another desktop.) I've scoured the interwebs trying to find an answer to this, but all I have found is people saying it works just fine for them. What gives?

You can only use the master card for sending signal to monitors. The other (the slave) is basically there to provide extra performance over the master, essentially being treated as a single card. Disable crossfire if you want to use 3 monitors.
