1600x900 is a better screen resoution because it has a ratio of 16:9 rather than the 4:3 ratio of 1280x1024
also 1280x1024 has 1,310,720 pixels compared to 1,440,000 pixels in 1600x900. the more pixels means a higher definition ![]() but be sure to check other aspects of a monitor e.g contrast ratio and response time..

Peronal preference really. Would you prefer it to be wider or higher?
1600 x 900 = 1,440,000 1280 x 1024 = 1,310,720 So, there are more pixels in the 1600 x 900. Really though, it totally depends on the montier and more than just the resolution. Things like pixel pitch size, response time, so its hard to say this IS better than this.

well 1280x1024 will look better because it has 1024 instead of 900 i know this from experience i went from 1280x1024 to 1440x900

games will definately look better in higher resolution but other aspects are as important.
such as.. response time, pixel pitch size, monitor size, contrast ratio, lcd/led/plasma, brightness levels and so on

he is talking about 1600x900 not 1440x900, the extra pixels on 1600 versus 1280 make up for 900 rather than 1024 and means more pixels

I guess he means the height.. it's not just 'more pixels is better', some people dislike having a 'slim' screen, by this I mean a low height but a high width monitor.
